WHAT IS DECIPHERING TRUTH?

“Deciphering truth involves using critical thinking, logical consistency, and empirical evidence to determine what is factual. It requires investigating claims, verifying sources, and recognizing cognitive biases, such as confirmation bias. To uncover the truth, it’s helpful to commit to the process, resist emotional reactions, assess intent, and critically evaluate information by consulting the source whenever possible.”

With information so readily available at our fingertips, sometimes it’s hard to distinguish the truth from a lie. And yes, you read that right! No, we at Deciphering Truth do not believe that all truth is relative or subjective. Still, instead, we know there are “Truths” to be found that, with the right resources and a heart of understanding, can be discovered with a divine relationship with the Savior, Jesus Christ (Colossians 1:26). This, we pray, will be one of those resources to help point those seeking answers in the right direction. No, this is not the end-all, be-all, but hopefully, a blessing to those seeking answers to burning questions concerning Biblical topics.

“Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I was compelled to write to you [urgently] appealing that you fight strenuously for [the defense of] the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints [the faith that is the sum of Christian belief that was given verbally to believers].”

‭‭Jude 1:3 ‬ ‭

“To utilize this platform to share Biblical insight and answers with integrity, clarity, and a deep desire for the truth of God’s Word to be known and embraced.”

STATEMENT OF FAITH

THE BIBLE

We believe the Holy Bible is the true, inerrant, infallible, and inspired work of God written by men of old, Prophets and Apostles, composed of both the Old and New Testaments. No other past, present, or future writings or books are of equal authority or power.

(Luke 21:33, 2 Timothy 3:16, and Revelation 22:18-19)

THE TRINITY

We believe in one God, eternally existing in the persons of God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit.

(Genesis 1:26, Matthew 28:19, Ephesians 1:4, 7, 13, and 1 John 5:7)

SALVATION

We believe that salvation is a free work of grace, given to those who believe by faith and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Having a true belief in the full assurance that Jesus Christ, being God the Son (second person of the Trinity), willingly laid his life down on the Cross and was raised on the third day, defeated death, giving us access to free justification through faith alone.

(Romans 10:9, Ephesians 2:8, Romans 5:8-9, and John 10:18)

GOD’S SOVEREIGNTY

We believe that God is sovereign over all creation, exercising supreme authority, wisdom, and power. He rules over the heavens and the earth, directing all things according to His perfect will and purpose. Nothing happens apart from His knowledge or control, and He works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).

(Isaiah 46:9-10, Psalm 103:19, Daniel 4:34-35, Proverbs 21:1, Job 42:2, Romans 9)

MAN’S RESPONSIBILITY

We believe that while God is sovereign, He has created humanity with real responsibility and accountability. We are called to respond to God’s revelation with faith, obedience, and repentance. Though God initiates salvation, each person is responsible for their choices and actions, and will give account before Him (Romans 14:12).

(Acts 17:30, Mark 1:15, Joshua 24:15, Philippians 2:12, John 3:16, Romans 6:23, 1 Corinthians 3:9-15)

Man’s responsibility does not diminish God’s sovereignty, nor does God’s sovereignty negate human responsibility. Both truths stand together in Scripture, calling us to trust in God’s grace while walking in faithful obedience.
